Raised in a multi-ethnic plantation village in the country on the Big Island of Hawaii gave me the background to respect and honor diversity. Attending Kamehameha Schools on the island of O'ahu and later graduating from Portland State University introduced me to city life.

Strange-Bates Realty Group was created in 1989 by bankers John Bates, CPA and CFO, and Alva, "Al", Strange, whose experience was in various aspects of a trust department and head of REO (Real Estate Owned) department. I joined the company in late 1989.

A collage of my transactions has taken me, literally, from (Mount) Hood to Coast and as far as Monmouth, South of Salem in the Willamette Valley. The entire Portland Metro and outlying areas comprise my palette, which has been enhanced with sales of single family residences...pre-owned and new construction, plexes, country properties, a live-work condo in the Pearl District, small commercial, and a condo-conversion project in the Nob Hill/Alphabet District of Northwest Portland.

Representing my clients well, being their advocate, is my primary focus, whether is be for first time homebuyers, seniors, or the up-sizing or down-sizing stages in between.

Having pets gives me the understanding of the owners' needs for their pets.

Preservation of significant buildings and land is important to me. As a member of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, Restore Oregon, the Architectural Heritage Center and the Daughters of Hawaii I support their missions.

Belonging to a local garden club nurtures my avocation of gardening. Gaining more knowledge about plants and their care provides me with information I can impart and contribute to my sellers and buyers to enhance their properties.

I am also a member of P.E.O. (Philanthropic Educational Organization) which assists women in their educational goals.
